Tax cooperation: Guernsey and Jersey among 51 jurisdictions to sign new agreement in Berlin

On 29 October Guernsey and Jersey joined with 49 other countries and jurisdictions in Berlin at a signing ceremony hosted by the German Minister of Finance, Dr Wolfgang Schäuble. The signing of a multilateral competent authority agreement (MCAA) was a further step in the implementation of a new global standard of automatic exchange of tax information – the Common Reporting Standard. The agreement was signed at the OECD Global Forum meeting by Jersey’s Treasury and Resources Minister, Senator Philip Ozouf, and by Guernsey’s Director of Income Tax, Rob Gray.
