Jersey and Guernsey join Council of Europe expert group on countering money laundering

On 10 October the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers accepted applications from Jersey and Guernsey to participate in the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL): for more information please see the MONEYVAL website.

The Channel Islands are committed to meeting international standards in this area, and have been positively assessed as doing so by the IMF in 2009 (Jersey) and 2011 (Guernsey). The Channel Islands’ Brussels Office facilitates contributions by the Islands’ authorities to relevant EU work, including consultations on the current review of the 3rd Anti Money Laundering Directive.
